2. Ministry of the Word The
primary ministries of the Word are the priests and teachers, but again
everyone can be involved. When we talk of our life's stories, we can
see God in various events that happen. Others have had similar
experiences and together we learn to see God in the world around us
and in each other. A. Religious Education
Programs- We have pre-school through high-school programs. Pre-school
meets on Sunday mornings during the 9am Mass. Students in grades 1-6
also meet on Sunday morning following the 9am Mass. The Religious
Education Program is responsible for teaching the Catholic Faith to students who attend
public schools. We always need teacher, aides and office workers. With
different age levels and programs, there are a variety of jobs within
the scope of religious education. Passing on the Faith has many
rewards- and we learn well what we teach- and our own faith and
knowledge are deepened. For pre-school and elementary level, Mary Hupf,

Religious
Education B. Adult Education Programs-
Throughout the year, Holy Rosary offers a variety of adult education
programs. These short courses cover a wide range of subjects. Fr.
Haydock has offered 2 bible study courses. There is usually a lecture
series in the Fall and Spring. A course for Returning Catholics and
Adult Confirmation are two new offerings. Participating in these
programs is a good way to meet people in the parish as well as to grow
in knowledge. Contact, 778-3122. C.
Catechumenate (R.C.I.A.)- The weekly process that those who are
interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith are invited to
participate in. As you know, a variety of presenters and parish
sponsors are always needed. For a long time Catholic, this is a way to
rekindle a little religious fervor in one's life. Contact, 778-3122. *Also see link: R.C.I.A. D.
Baptism Preparation Sessions- In the Seattle Archdiocese,
before a couple can have their baby baptized, they must participate in
preparation sessions. The sessions cover the history of baptism, its
importance, the role of the parents and sponsor in the child's faith
journey, the meaning of the symbols, etc. Several couples lead these
sessions. Contact the parish office to register. E.
Marriage Preparation Sessions- Again, the Archdiocese requires
preparation for the celebration of this sacrament by the couple
considering marriage. A couple comes to the office for an initial
interview and to take FOCUS- a readiness assessment tool. They then
will meet with a married couple to discuss the various aspects of
marriage. Contact Fr. Haydock at the parish office, 778-3122. *Also see link:
Marriage
and Family Life F. Children's Catechumenate
(R.C.I.C.)- This is for older children who have not been baptized or
received their first communion. They gather on Wednesday evenings
beginning in the fall. The sacraments are celebrated during the Easter
season. Contact Mary Hupf at, 778-3122. <---Back
