Father Haydock was born in Seattle on July 18, 1946. He grew up on Capital Hill and attended St. Joseph’s Parish. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education and began teaching at Seattle Prep in 1969. In 1973, he accepted a position at John F. Kennedy High School in Burien, WA. Fr. Haydock entered Theological College for his seminary education in 1977 and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Theology from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. After his ordination in 1980, his first assignment was Sacred Heart in Bellevue, WA. After a second assignment, as Parochial Vicar at St. Mary Magdalen in Everett, WA, Fr. Haydock was appointed in 1985 as Pastor of St. Joseph’s in Vancouver, WA. In Vancouver, he was instrumental in helping the St. Vincent de Paul Society in expanding their outreach to the community and relocating their offices.

In 1996, Archbishop Murphy appointed Fr. Haydock as pastor of Holy Rosary, in Edmonds WA. Fr. Haydock has raised a considerable amount of money to facilitate the much-needed church repairs and renovations &  for earthquake preparedness. Currently, he is in the process of planning for a new parish center which will include a new parish gathering place, offices & meeting areas.

Over the years, Fr. Haydock has also strongly advocated for the needs of the poor and homeless. Throughout his ministry, he has also served as a hospital and hospice chaplain in different communities, and speaks out for the need for expanded pastoral care in parishes.  Archbishop Brunett appointed Fr. Haydock  Episcopal Vicar for Catholic Community Services and the Archdiocesan Housing Authority
